Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - The Director's Cut is a remastered version of the original point-and-click quest released 13 years afterward.

Plot

The original game sets in Paris and tells a story of a Nicole Collard — the protagonist alongside with George Stobbart — the American tourist. The whole narrative centers around Palais Royale where the murdering of the local President candidate — Pierre Carchon. Furthermore, she figures out the Templar order is mixed with the situation. The player is set to follow many arcs: starting from romancing the other characters and ending with the prevention of the global terroristic attacks.

Gameplay

Traditionally, the gameplay in the point-and-click varies a little or do not change at all. The player is given some two-dimensional background with clickable items on it and the characters on the screen. The player may interact either with the environment or with the people. The remastered version also brought touch controls for mobile devices and accelerometer Wii Remote pads.

Director's Cut features

The game's graphics were rendered in higher definition, some of the original's scenes were cut out, and the display of the blood spilling in some scenes was evaded entirely. The original game featured only George Stobbart as the protagonist; however, the whole new Collard's story was added. The game has also got easier — the "help" section was added.
